We are Northern Luzon Pride (NLP)
a grassroots, volunteer-led, non-stock, nonprofit, SEC-registered organization dedicated to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion for the LGBTQIA+ community in our region.
Northern Luzon Pride is a community-led organization dedicated to celebrating, empowering, and organizing LGBTQIA+ communities across the Northern Luzon region of the Philippines. Since launching the first modern pride festival in Baguio in 2022, we have grown into a collective that creates spaces for queer joy, cultural expression, education, and advocacy.
At its core, Northern Luzon Pride is rooted in community organizing. We believe in creating spaces where queer people from all backgrounds can build collective power together.
Northern Luzon Pride envisions a society free of hate, where LGBTQIA+ communities are accepted, protected, supported, empowered, and celebrated.
Northern Luzon Pride strives to create and nurture community-oriented spaces in the region. We aim to create a network of individuals and organizations in the region that are committed to solidarity, equality, advocacy, education, and collective action.
We believe in the innate autonomy, importance, beauty, and power of queer folks.
Our organizing is grounded in inclusion, intersectionality, continuous learning, and community-based action.
We believe in inclusion, not regardless of a person’s SOGIE, but with the acknowledgement of each person’s sexual orientation and gender identity.
We believe in intersectionality, that no struggle is separate from the other, and that to address issues affecting queer folks addresses issues in society.
We believe in continuous learning; we are here to listen and learn from our elders and our communities. We believe that each experience provides an opportunity for growth.
We believe in community-oriented action. Northern Luzon Pride is made possible because of our community. It is our duty to love, care for, protect, support, and empower each other.
