What We Do

The Pride Festival is a significant event that aims to foster unity, celebrate diversity, and raise awareness. 

Since our establishment in 2022, Northern Luzon Pride has organized annual pride festivals in Baguio that have brought together thousands of attendees, local artists, grassroots organizations, students, advocates, and allies from across the region. 

We believe that pride is not only a celebration, but also a platform for collective action and care.

Beyond events, we actively engage in advocacy and community partnerships. Northern Luzon Pride has participated in calls for the implementation and strengthening of the Anti-Discrimination Ordinance (ADO) in Baguio City, pushing for clearer protections and accountability for LGBTQIA+ individuals. We continue to work alongside local organizations, civil society groups, and community leaders to promote safer and more inclusive spaces.

Our open mics, fairs, and art exhibits are avenues where we support and celebrate queer creativity. These events bring together queer artists, writers, musicians, artisans, and allies to share their work and stories in a safe and affirming environment.

Joy and connection are revolutionary. Our community socials create safe, informal spaces for queer folks to meet, eat, and just be.

Our community picnics and socials are also essential parts of our work. These are intentionally created spaces where queer folks can just be—without judgment, fear, or pressure. These gatherings nourish both body and spirit and allow for new friendships and collaborations to form organically. The emphasis on free, accessible programming ensures that financial barriers do not exclude anyone from these experiences.

Our HIV/AIDS awareness and health access initiatives are a cornerstone of our advocacy. Through collaborations with trusted organizations such as LoveYourself, FPOP, Baguio City Health Services Office, and DOH-CAR, we provide community-based HIV testing, awareness campaigns, and linkage to care services. We also distribute safe sex kits and conduct informational sessions to counter stigma and misinformation. Our partnership approach means these services are culturally competent, queer-informed, and non-judgmental - meeting people where they are.

We have organized a series of queer film screenings celebrating queer cinema, showcasing films that explore and celebrate queer narratives, identities, and experiences.

Our nightlife events support local queer talent while being a Brave and Safe space for queer bodies.

Our teach-ins, panels, and educational events directly address needs and issues concerning the LGBTQIA+ community. We regularly organize a teach-in on the History of the Pride Movement with a focus on the Philippine context. We have organized panels on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Expression (SOGIE),  Queer Mental Health, Trans Experiences, Trans Health, Sex and Consent, Asexuality, Intersexuality, the Anti-Discrimination Ordinance in Baguio, Community Organizing, Queer Art and Representation.

We also host regular talks and forums on relevant and critical topics such as SOGIE-SC, trans affirmative health, mental wellness, queer sexual health, sex positivity, and others.

These sessions bring together healthcare professionals, advocates, artists, and community leaders to speak on issues that are important to the community but are often overlooked by institutions. For example, our sessions on trans-affirming care not only educate, but also create support networks for trans and nonbinary individuals who often face systemic barriers to healthcare.

The Pride March is a celebration of diversity, equality, and inclusion as well as a call for social justice and for the passing of the SOGIE bill into law.

As we march, we remember our history and our elders. We march to call for the right to live openly and freely, expressing ourselves without persecution. We march for the recognition of our rights. We march in solidarity. We march in celebration of our history, our community, and ourselves. We march for Pride. We march with Pride.
